Barbara Cooke-Hider (nee Bishop)
Barbara graduated at the University of Westminster obtaining a BSc in Acupuncture with First Class Honours in 2007. This 3 year full time degree course incorporated acupuncture with Chinese nutritional therapy, acupressure, auricular, cupping, Moxa & Tuina.
Barbara is a member of the British Acupuncture Council, which is the professional association and governing body for acupuncturists.
I’m passionate about health and wellbeing, and have a special interest in treating fertility and pregnancy. I member of the Sussex based Acupuncture and Childbirth Team (ACT) who are a team of acupuncturists with expertise in obstetric and fertility care dedicated to enhancing the birth experience using the wisdom and knowledge of acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. I was also a ZITA WEST affiliated acupuncturist (2010 to 2013).
I am committed to continuing my professional development and have completed post-grad training for treating:
- Pregnancy and childbirth conditions;
- Fertility and Assisted Fertility (IVF, IUI)
- Facial revitalisation (cosmetic) acupuncture;
- Sports injury acupuncture;
- Scalp acupuncture: stroke rehabilitation;
- Shonishin non-needling techniques for children.
I keep active and love playing netball and play in two local leagues, as well as coaching & managing a Junior netball team. I also enjoy paddleboarding, playing beach volleyball & dog walking.
I also have an ITEC diploma in Swedish massage.
